2012-HAPPY CHIINESE NEW YEAR

I couldn't remember when was the last time I celebrated Chinese new year with my family, perhaps it was 20 something years ago. It's the year of Dragon for the Chinese this year, but for christian, it's always the year of God! Amen :)

Mr M & I visited the famous Di Hua Street yesterday, it is famous for selling Chinese medicine and lots of unusual Chinese food, fabric and craftmentship. My colleagues were saying that I should pay a visit to the place just before the CNY, it will be packed and there are lots of free food tasting too! So here up and we went!

We took MRT to Zhongshan Station and walked for about 10-15 mins toward Di Hua Street. There are  a lots of big red lanterns by the entrance.

Full of people buying food and snacks for the new year, we were generally being pushed by the crowd.. I dislike that feeling.. too crowded and too close to strangers.. but it was kind of fun to see different kind of Chinese food, snacks and strange products.

stinky tofu! it's not stinky at all and it taste good!

you can just pick on of them and taste it ..it's free!

she was on TV the other day, cause of  her sexy outfit, quite a few customers bought stuff from her!! especially the men..

bamboo juice.

The salesman trying his very best to demonstrate the products.

I am not sure what are these and how it could be used..

There are many old buildings in Di Hua Street too, i love the details and the natural materials of them.

We are going back to Hsinchu tonight and have our reunion dinner with dad, annoying bro and his lovely girlfriend, hopefully it will be a peaceful and happy reunion time. Mum and my other bro will have their reunion dinner tonight in Singapore too.

So Happy Lunar Year to all the chinese around the world and may God bless us all with happinese and a healthy life!

  1. I enjoyed reading your blog Rifkah !

The photography is very insightful, full of drama and colour.
Your attention to life's every day details is lovely, each image tells a story.
And you seem to share a love of modern furniture as I do.

    Keep the creative juices going.
