Missing sausage roll (想念英式香腸卷)

Home made sausage roll

I am craving for sausage rolls these days but have no idea where to get it in Taipei. Therefore I began to search for its recipe online. To my surprise, it's not too hard at all and it's not time consuming too.

This is all what you need:

Puff pastry

Minced pork (I suggest lean minced pork will be perfect for this recipe, otherwise it will be too oily after the baking).

Mixed herbs

Salt

Pepper

Sesame seed for decoration

One beaten egg (egg wash)

Method:

1. Mix the mince pork with all the mixed herbs, salt and pepper together.  Remember to mix them for a few mins until all the ingredients are evently mixed.

2. Next step is to take the mixture and place onto the one edge of puff pastry, and start rolling in the pastry. Remember to brush the egg wash onto the end of the pastry.

3. Gently cut 3 slices of lines on the pastry before brushing the egg wash all over.

4. Sprinkle the sesame seeds evently.

5. Put the sausage rolls into a pre-heated oven, temperature 200 degrees. Bake it for about 30 mins or until its all cooked or puffed up!

There you go, ain't it easy and you can have them for party!
