I was watching morning news in Japan 2 weeks ago, they were promoting chocolates for valentines day. I realised the main targets consumers are the ladies. I asked Mr M for the reason, and he said it's the tradition in Japan for girls to buy chocolate for the men they like on the valentines day, but it's the men's turn to return the gift to the girls on their white valentines day which is on the 14th of March, and the men have to give back 3 times the value of the gift they received in Feb. Wow..... it's all about the value huh... One of my best friends who lives in Japan told me that even though she is married now, she has to buy chocolate for the his male colleagues in her office.... she was not pleased at all. well of course, if I were her, I would not be happy at all, but I comfort her buy saying, just wait to one month later for your surprises then! lol.
Anyway, I decided to do something special this year for the V-day. Since it's our 10 years anniversary, there is no harm buy making some truffle for my love one and he really likes chocolate! I started to go on line and found Jamie Oliver's truffle recipe, it's easy to make and only took me about 15 mins to prepare and made everything. All I needed to do is to wait for about 4-6 hours for the truffle to set in the fridge.

It turned out ok. Mr M likes it... I am not too sure if he is just being polite by saying that, cause I made some effort for the first time on V-day. He commended on different sizes of truffle, he wondered why they are not in the same size?? I told him that it is because it's HOME MADE!! for goodness sake... man... he should learn appreciation rather than complaint...
