Tempura

I have been craving for fried food recently, but I don't want it to be too oily and get it from one of those street food stall, as it is unhealthy. So I thought why not making it at home! Ding! Home fried Japanese tempura is the solution...
So I start searching for the recepie for the tempura batter on the internet. It's pretty simple, just take some times to cut the vegetable you want to eat.

There are one carrot, some cabbage and one onion in the fridge, so I just used all of them. Shredded the cabbage, cut the onion and carrot into strips.

Mix all the ingredients to make  the batter:
100g of flour
1 tea spoon of baking powder
2 table spoon of corn flour
1 egg
200cc or 200g of cold water

Heat up the oil in the pan, I dropped in a few drops of my batter to check if the oil is hot enough for frying. I just take bits of veggie at one time and fried them slowly, used medium to low heat so the veggie don't get burnt!

Just before eating it, sprinkle some salt on it. They tasted good! Yummy. I am going to try with prawn and aubergine next time. How I wish I have a fryer!
